About
What MageSpeedTest is.
MageSpeedTest is a public benchmarking and optimisation resource for Magento storefronts. It runs speed tests against live Magento URLs through Google's PageSpeed Insights engine and publishes opinionated, practitioner-focused guides on the specific optimisations that move real Magento sites from slow to fast.
Independent
MageSpeedTest is not affiliated with Adobe Commerce, Magento Inc., or any of the major Magento hosting or extension vendors. The guidance reflects what we've seen work and not work across many Magento performance engagements; nothing on this site is sponsored content.
Practitioner focus
The guides target three audiences:
- Store operators who are tired of waiting for their developers to fix store-speed problems and want to understand which fixes will actually help.
- Agency developers who already know Magento and want a concise, opinionated reference for the optimisation patterns that work in practice.
- Hosting and DevOps teams debugging Magento performance issues from the infrastructure side — the Redis, Varnish, MySQL, and PHP-FPM tuning guides are written with this audience in mind.
What we don't do
We don't sell consulting, hosting, or extensions. We don't run paid ads, sponsored content, or affiliate links to hosting providers. The site is a reference, not a sales funnel.
